Abstract

In this presentation, we discuss how the pedagogical-didactic treatment of Portuguese as a pluricentric language (also in teacher training programs) enhances changes in the perspective of language teaching and learning around three dimensions: i) the dialogue between different contexts of production and circulation of linguistic knowledge, giving epistemological centrality to the voices of the Global South; ii) the decolonization of the hegemonic language curriculum; and iii) the development of plurilingual competence and linguistic awareness as objectives of language teaching-learning, instead of electing an exclusionary normativity as an object. We end with a presentation of the texts that make up this special issue.
