Abstract

This article investigates the complex contemporary intercultural dynamics, focusing on the ideas of philosopher Jacques Derrida. The object of study encompasses Derrida's conception of unconditional hospitality, cultural identity, and the critique of logocentrism, exploring the political and legal challenges associated with these propositions. The goal is to analyze the interconnection between these themes, understanding unconditional hospitality as a model of reception devoid of impositions and anchored in Derrida's impossibility. The methodology involves a deep analysis of Derrida's writings, highlighting the nuances of intercultural relations in contemporary times. The results point to the need to rethink democratic relations, recognizing alterity as a fundamental condition for an ethical and non-egocentric identity. It is concluded that understanding unconditional hospitality and its relation to cultural identity offers crucial insights for addressing cultural transformations and the complexities of human relations today.
