Abstract

The article deals with Derek Wilton Langridge's legacy for teaching and research in the field of Knowledge Organization. It addresses their academic background, professional activities, participation in the CRG and scientific production, highlighting classification and indexing activities and their impact on Educational for Knowledge Organization. The methodological approach allowed researchers to show that Langridge's seminal works contributed to the theory, practice, teaching and development of Knowledge Organization as a domain as well as to the information professional education. Derek Wilton Langridge's biobibliographic survey and the approach of commentators on his work. The objective is to highlight Derek Wilton Langridge's contribution to teaching and research in knowledge organization in undergraduate and graduate programs in Library Science and Information Science in Brazil.
