OPEN ARCHIVES: GREEN ROAD OR GOLDEN ROAD?

The central objective of this article is about the relative questions to the impacts of the Open Archives Initiative movement about the scientific communities in the world. With that purpose, it is necessary to inquire the changes occurred in the scene of scientific communications, which they aim at to the free and gratuitous access of the scientific production, the respect to the copyrights and authorization of use to the available material. Therefore, It is approached two basic strategies defined by open archives: 1) The Green Road deals with the filing made by the authors of the scientific article already published or accepted for publication with authorization (green signal) of the publishers, so that, they can be put in use in a server of open archive; 2) The Golden Road that it include electronic scientific journals, whose it open access to its contents is guaranteed by the publishers.Downloads
