A IMPORTÂNCIA DO CONTEXTO PARA A INDEXAÇÃO

A indexação é um importante processo em um Sistema de Recuperação da Informação (SRI), constituído de duas etapas: análise de assunto e tradução. Sabe-se que a literatura aponta a etapa de análise de assunto como um dos processos mais difíceis de serem realizados, pelo seu caráter subjetivo. Um importante fator que deve ser observado nesse processo é o contexto. O objetivo deste estudo é analisar os diferentes pontos de vista que a importância do contexto tem no processo de indexação, especificamente o contexto sociocognitivo. Esta pesquisa parte de um levantamento bibliográfico, caracterizando-se como exploratória e descritiva. Conclui-se que todas as abordagens apresentadas na literatura pressupõem que o processo de indexação sempre sofre influência sociocultural, e depende do contexto cultural e social específico do indexador e do usuário.
