LA CIRCULACIÓN DE LOS AFECTOS EN LA INTERFAZ ENTRE LA SOCIOLOGÍA DE LA SALUD Y LAS EMOCIONES

Este artículo presenta un marco epistemológico y teórico-metodológico en la interfaz entre la Sociología de la Salud y la Sociología de las Emociones. Busca construir un argumento sobre el lugar de la dimensión afectiva en el proceso salud-enfermedad y, al mismo tiempo, una propuesta teórico metodológica para el estudio de los afectos y las emociones en esta área de investigación social. Se argumenta que el estudio de los afectos es relevante para problemas característicos de la investigación en salud, a saber, el impacto de marcadores sociales como clase, género y raza en el proceso salud-enfermedad, las particularidades de las interacciones entre profesionales de la salud, pacientes y sus seres queridos, y la relación entre emoción y trabajo asistencial. Finalmente, se concluye que la Sociología de la Salud puede renovarse y enriquecerse desde el punto de vista teórico-metodológico mediante un diálogo permanente con las teorías sociales de los afectos y las emociones.
