Abstract

Reconhecendo a necessidade de uma grande teoria do político, que permita compreender as relações mais globais entre o Estado e a sociedade, colocando o político e o Estado frente às necessidades e aspirações mais fundamentais e profundas do homem, o artigo discute os diferentes paradigmas do político e as relações entre a ação política direta e não institucionalizada e o político institucional, com base na experiência e nas práticas dos novos movimentos sociais.

This work recognizes the urgent need for a major theory of the political that would allow a better understanding of the more global relations between the State and Society, placing the political and the State in face of man's deeper and more fundamental needs and aspirations. On the basis of this recongnition and of the experience and practises of the 'new' social
movements, it then discusses the different paradigm referring to the political and the relationship between non-institutionalized, direct political action and institutionalized politics.
