Abstract

The objective of this work is to propose reflections related to the relationship between gender, labor and prostitution, with regard to the mental health of transgender women in situations of social vulnerability in Brazil. In this context, it is noted that transgender women are victims of violence, and due to unfavorable socioeconomic conditions, facing prostitution as a way of survival, which entails degrading conditions of existence, generating a negative impact on mental health. This work is divided into three axes, the first destined to the definitions of transgender women and the reality faced in the labor process, the second deals with the conditions of existence of transgender women, guiding human rights and capitalism, and the third aims to reflect on the mental health of transgender women in the context of prostitution, and the social vulnerabilities that this practice encompasses. This work is developed under the methodology of bibliographical and jurisprudential research, by the decisions of the Regional Labor Court of the 2nd Region, between 2020 and 2022, treaty of moral harassment. Is expected to know the demands related to transgender women in Brazil, in the context of labor, prostitution and mental health, aiming to subsidize the debate on the relations between gender, labor, prostitution and mental health.
