Abstract

Evaluating public policies considering the multiple aspects of citizenship is a great challenge and the logic of difference offers an important key in establishing a starting point for this type of analysis. The recognition of the distinction of differences, as part of the construction of identity, enables a deep perception of the reality of citizens as well makes possible to understand how this distinction becomes social markers that determine inequality. It turns out that these markers are several and overlapping, which makes intersectionality fundamental for a more refined discussion about the various forms of injustice that make up inequality and its interconnections. With these aspects in mind, the article, based on the reflections of the main theorists on the theme of intersectionality, both foreigns and Brazilians, seeks to address systematically this perspective that allows articulates the dimensions of differences, turned into inequalities, for the broader and deeper study of evaluative contexts. Its main purpose is to contribute to the advancement of the systematization of the intersectional perspective as a powerful instrument of analysis, within the field of public policies, with particular emphasis on the dimension of evaluations, as well as an instrument of political struggle.
