Resumo: Perini (1995), Cunha & Cintra (2000), Bechara (1999, 2001), além de outros gramáticos e estudiosos de linguística, consideram o vocativo como uma unidade à parte. Neste estudo observamos, entretanto, que há construções em que há participação do vocativo no evento da ação verbal. Utilizando o referencial teórico-metodológico da Sociolinguística Variacionista, demonstramos que esse é um dos fatores linguísticos que impulsionam a mudança de ordem do vocativo na oração do Português Brasileiro, que é identificada por Moreira (2008).

Abstract: Perini (1995), Cunha & Cintra (2000), Bechara (1999, 2001), among other grammarians and scholars of linguistics, consider the vocative as a separate unit. However, in this study, we observe that there are constructions where participation of the vocative in the event of verbal action occurs. By utilizing the theoretical-methodological referential of Variationist Sociolinguistics, we demonstrate that this is one of the linguistic factors which drive the change in position of the vocative in the Brazilian Portuguese clause, as identified by Moreira (2008).
