THE GESTURE OF REMEMBERING IN JEFERSON TENÓRIO’S O AVESSO DA PELE

This article attempts to investigate remembrance in the novel Jeferson Tenório’s O avesso da pele (2020), considering the grieving process and the reconstitution of the memory of its characters, and its relationship with the social context addressed in the book. From texts by Dalcastagne (2005), Freud (2011), Fanon (2020), Farias (2018), Le Goff (1990) and Gagnebin (2006), accepted that the narrator assumes the function to tell the story of his father, a black man violently murdered, and he does so to also be the author of that story, elaborating not only his grieving, but what he calls an “invented truth”.
