Sonhos bloqueados, published in 1991, is the first novel by Laura Honda-Hasegawa. The narrator-character Kimiko, a Japanese family's descendant, reveals the imposing respect for the family hierarchy, paying attention to the task of being useful, taking care of family members, especially under the coordinates of the father figure. Given this context, this work has the purpose to analyze and understand the forms of silence in Kimiko's experience of dubious feelings, which oscillate between her own wills and the presence of oriental culture that impels her to paternal decisions and family teachings of obedience female. For this purpose, the work will have as theoretical support the studies of Eni Orlandi (1997), the historian Oliveira Lima (1903) and Inumaru (2019).
