TRABALHO FLEXÍVEL E O NOVO INFORMAL

Resumo

 O artigo analisa a retomada dos estudos sobre informalidade, agora dentro do paradigma da flexibilidade, tendo como referência o crescimento do chamado setor informal nos países de capitalismo avançado. Sustenta o caráter polêmico do conceito e sua aplicabilidade voltada a situações particulares em contextos de reestruturação econômica. Apresenta o caso do tradicional cluster do vestuário, formado pelas cidades de Santa Cruz do Capibaribe e Toritama em Pernambuco, totalmente organizado na informalidade desde os anos 60, e as mudanças em curso a partir dos anos 90.              PALAVRAS-CHAVE: Informalidade, trabalho flexível, trabalhadores do vestuário, trabalho eventual, pequena produção.                                                                 
FLEXIBLE WORK AND THE NEW INFORMAL SECTOR


The paper analyses the retaking of the studies on informality inserted into the flexibility paradigm, having as a reference the growth of the so-called informal sector in the countries where capitalism has reached an advanced level. It supports the polemic feature of the concept and its applicability in economical restructuring contexts. It presents the traditional clothing cluster formed by the cities of Santa Cruz do Capibaribe and Toritama Pernambuco, in the Northeast of Brazil, totally informality centered from the 60s on and the ongoing  changes  from the 90s on.
