Abstract

This article aims to clarify the central role of impartiality in Tom Regan’s philosophical theory, which is largely viewed as one of the best contemporary defenses of the moral value of animals. Metaethical considerations are made to emphasize the merits of Regan’s take on how we should think morally about animals, given his view on impartiality, in the face of the criticism from ecofeminist ethicists.
