Abstract

Patent deposit BR1020190139889, "modular wheelchair", presents itself as a mobility device adaptable to the user's dimensions. The prospective study of this patent application has as its general objective the technical analysis of the invention, as well as the survey of the research and development scenario based on data from articles and patents. The identification of opportunities and relevant actors for the possible technological transfer of the patent application in question was carried out, as well as the survey of the research and development scenario based on data from articles and related patents. The strategic positioning of this assistive technology relative to advances in the industrial development of the invention is discussed with emphasis on the evolution of the prototype. The need for greater differentiation through the adoption of innovative materials or technologies that increase the barrier to entry for new competitors.
