Abstract

The transfer of technology is one way of disseminating science and technology produced in the academic environment to the productive environment in the form of technological innovation. The process of technology transfer can occur in a variety of ways, such as the pure transfer of knowledge, as well as the transfer of information, processes, functions, implementations and even the creation of new companies. In the face of the Brazilian scenario, with a high amount of scientific publications and a low quantity of patent applications, a method was proposed for Technology Transfer in Higher Education Institutions (IES), called "TIRA", Technology, Insertion, Appreciation. This article proposes to analyze the management of Technology Transfer in the two main Brazilian universities (USP and UNICAMP) and to compare these scenarios with the processes suggested by the TIRA Method.
