Teaching of intellectual property and entrepreneurship as a stimulus to innovation in stricto sensu graduate curricula of the Federal University of Alagoas

Abstract

This article presents the results of quantitative and qualitative study which used extracted data from the official website of the Federal University of Alagoas (UFAL). Its objective is to investigate the teaching of intellectual property and entrepreneurship in the curricula of “stricto sensu” graduate syllabus of UFAL. Also investigates the number of certified and updated research groups in the Research Group Directory (DGP) maintained by the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq) related to the subject and linked to UFAL. Considering the literature and the data found, this paper concludes for the need of new studies to investigate why few graduate syllabus offer disciplines related to the teaching of intellectual property and entrepreneuship in UFAL.

Author Biographies

Joyce Carolina Lins Guilhermat, Federal University of Alagoas, Maceió, Brazil.

Graduated in Law - Bachelor (2007), specialist in Education in Human Rights and Diversity (2013) from the Federal University of Alagoas and Master's student in the Professional Master's Degree in Intellectual Property and Technology Transfer for Innovation - PROFNIT/UFAL. Assistant in administration at the Federal University of Alagoas since 2006, currently working as a legal advisor at the Federal Attorney's Office at the Federal University of Alagoas since 2013. Acted as a conciliator in the Federal Court of Alagoas. She also worked as auctioneer and director of the Administrative Division of the UFAL Central Library, especially coordinating the acquisition/contracting processes of the UFAL Library System. He has experience in the area of ​​Administrative Law, focusing on bids and contracts.

Pierre Barnabé Escodro, Federal University of Alagoas, Maceio, AL, Brazil

Graduated in Veterinary Medicine from the Federal University of Paraná-Curitiba-PR, concluding in 1997. In 2001, he completed a Specialization in Surgery and Anesthesiology of Large Animals at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science of the Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho (FMVZ-UNESP) . Specialist in Veterinary Acupuncture by the Brazilian Association of Veterinary Acupuncture and Federal Council of Veterinary Medicine in 2016. Master's in Veterinary Medicine in the Veterinary Surgical Clinic by FMVZ-UNESP(2004). Graduated from the Institute of Chemistry and Biotechnology (IQB) of the Federal University of Alagoas (UFAL). From 2001 to 2008, he served as Clinical Director of VETPOLO Consultoria Veterinária, Pesquisa e Saúde Ltda, in Indaiatuba-SP. He is currently Adjunct Professor IV at the Federal University of Alagoas, where he is Leader of the RESEARCH AND EXTENSION GROUP IN EQUIDEOS (GRUPEQUI-UFAL). Professional in Intellectual Property and Technology Transfer for Innovation on a national network (profnit.org.br), UFAL focal point.

Silvia Beatriz Beger Uchôa, Federal University of Alagoas, Maceio, AL, Brazil

Graduated in Civil Engineering from the Federal University of Mato Grosso (1984); Master's degree in Architecture and Planning from the School of Engineering of São Carlos, University of São Paulo (1989) and PhD in Chemistry and Biotechnology - Physical-Chemistry Concentration Area, from the Institute of Chemistry and Biotechnology of UFAL (2007). She is currently a professor at the Federal University of Alagoas and Vice-coordinator of the Professional Master's PROFNIT - Focal Point UFAL. She was coordinator of the Center for Technological Innovation and Special Programs at PROPEP/UFAL, coordinating the Institutional Program for Initiation Scholarships in Technological Development and Innovation - PIBITI from 2010 to January 2016. She has experience in the areas of Civil Construction and Electrochemistry, with emphasis on Construction Materials and Components and Corrosion and Durability Tests, working mainly on the following topics: civil construction, construction materials, concrete properties, durability of reinforced concrete structures and building facade pathologies. She was vice-coordinator of FORTEC Regional NE from April 2010 to April 2012. She is currently a member of the Supervisory Board of FORTEC and is an alternate member of the Supervisory Board of ANPROTEC.

Andreiza Marcia Maia de Oliveira, Federal University of Alagoas, Maceio, AL, Brazil

She holds a degree in Business Administration from Faculdade Figueiredo Costa (2011). She has a postgraduate degree in Human Resources Administration, also from FIC, and a postgraduate degree in Public Management from the Federal University of Alagoas. Master's student in Intellectual Property, Technology Transfer for Innovation - PROFNIT/UFAL. She is currently an administrator at Companhia de Saneamento de Alagoas, performing the role of Business Quality Manager. He has experience in the area of ​​Administration, with emphasis on Human Resources, Public Management, Organizational Development, Organizational Planning and Quality Management.
