Based on the methodology of qualitative analysis, with bibliographic review procedures, documental research and field research with semi-structured interviews, we analyze in this article the extractive interorganizational arrangement in the Paraíso de Desenvolvimento Sustentável Settlement Project (PDS Paraíso) in the municipality of Alenquer/PA. . As part of the Origins Brasil Network, the activity in progress since 2016 reveals a development model based on the standing forest, which provides for: a) decision-making processes with a predominance of social management and substantive rationality; b) income generation by inhibiting the action of intermediaries; c) participation of the local population in territorial strategies; d) creation of an inter-organizational arrangement and promotion of a productive chain, of commercialization and processing of forest seeds, in an economically viable, socially fair and environmentally sustainable perspective. There are, however, challenges and impasses, notably with regard to the preservation of the associative act and the loyalty of extractivists to the established commercial system. In addition, the market regulates the final price of the seed at a disadvantageous value for the extractivist. Finally, we see the offensive of large development projects, fundamentals in agribusiness, which jeopardize the reproduction of life based on the standing forest.
