Análise do DiscursoAbstract
This study aims to analyze how homophobia is manifested, disseminated and naturalized on the internet, considering the semantic variations that permeate speeches and the ways in which individuals use language to express prejudice and discrimination against the LGBTQIAPN+ community. The theoretical contributions of Erving Goffman, J. L. Fiorin and Gregory Bateson are addressed. Goffman (2021) discusses the concept of stigma and how society categorizes people and establishes norms that favor some groups over others. Fiorin (1998) explores the relationships between language and ideology, as well as arguing that language is a vehicle for ideologies and shapes discourses according to the ideological determinations of society. Gregory Bateson (1972) emphasizes the importance of context in understanding utterances and actions, by introducing the concept of communicative frames and comparing them to the frame of a picture, which defines what is relevant for analysis. The research is explanatory-descriptive in nature and qualitative in nature. Thirty-five comments were selected and analyzed in light of the theories studied to identify and categorize the implicit comments related to homophobia. The analysis revealed the influence of ideology in the dissemination of stigmas and the formation of collective discourse online, which reinforces the need for effective laws against homophobic comments on social networks.
