HYPOTHESES FOR ORGANIZING THE “BOOK OF COMEDIES” IN COPILAÇAM DE TODALAS OBRAS DE GIL VICENTE

Abstract

The following essay is the result of a year of studies related to the research project “Ordering the “Book of Comedies” in the Copilaçam of all works by Gil Vicente”, developed within the scope of Scientific Initiation, with a CNPq scholarship. The project is part of and is a development of the research project of Professor Márcio Ricardo Coelho Muniz, whose title is "My book, what are you waiting for?: a history of the compilation of all works by Gil Vicente". In search of perspectives for the ordering motivations of the second book of the Copilaçam of 1562, the “das Comédias”, we went through readings and discussions of the file a path of better understanding about its authorial organicity. Considering the elements common to Gil Vicente's comedies, particularly aspects of the dramatic genre Comédia, as defined by the playwright himself, we will seek to discuss the organization of the “Livro das Comédias” defending a role of greater authorial autonomy in the organization of his work.
