Abstract

Our purpose, in this article, is to state some questions around possible reality shows analysis and interpretation guidelines. The article itself is about the television program “Gran Hermano” (“The big brother”, Argentina, 2001). Some imagery crystallized into this television genre, as well as the imagery approached, will be specially analyzed. In this way, a sort of map, marked by some relevant topics which go through this genre, will be drawn. These referred topics are: the exclusion logic in the participant-viewer relationship, the beautiful young body imagery, the reality-fiction problems, the “social promotion” imagery, the “undecidibility” between what is public and what is private.
