Review Form

Guidelines for reviewers

Afro-Ásia publishes articles that make an unequivocal contribution to the academic debate at a theoretical, methodological or empirical level, in the field of Asian, Middle-East, African and Diaspora Studies, in any chronological frame, and in any area of knowledge within the Social Sciences and the Humanities.

Despite being published only in Portuguese, and aimed primarily at Brazilian academic audiences, Afro-Asia participates in the international debate, and posits itself as a fundamental reference for scholars interested in topics related to racial relations in Brazil and the history of black populations in the Americas, including its relations (both historical and contemporary) with the African continent.
The articles accepted for publication should be able to fully meet the demands of the Brazilian scholarly public, and also, in most cases, of foreign experts who regularly consult Afro-Asia, and eventually publish there.

Mandatory revisions and recommendations should be indicated in the form fields below. Please do not comment directly on the article, as it might compromise the double-blind review process.

See our Publication ethics statement for more information.
