Information For Authors
Afro‑Ásia was the first scientific journal specialized in Africa and the African Diaspora in Latin America. Established in 1965, within the Centro de Estudos Afro-Orientais [Center for Afro-Oriental Studies] of the Federal University of Bahia, the journal took part in the renewal of the scholarship on Africa Studies that followed the political independence processes in the continent (see Journal History for detailed information).
Afro‑Ásia publishes peer-reviewed, scholarly articles, book reviews and, in some cases, exceptionally singular primary sources in a broad range of academic disciplines on topics related to the African Diaspora, Africa and Asia (which here includes the Middle East). Submissions are continuously open for research articles and essays (book reviews, interviews, tributes, commented primary sources and other special materials are handled separately by the editors).
