Abstract

In this essay, I discuss how oral sources have been used over time to preserve lesbian memories. If, on the
one hand, the testimony was, many times, the only evidence of our trajectories, after deliberate erasure actions, on the other hand, the possibility of continuing to exist remained in the testimonies. I articulate this argument based on a bibliographic review that considers studies on lesbianities from Antiquity to the present. From chants sung to goddesses, through poetry and testimonials, oral culture is deeply related with lesbianities and the way we access them.
