Abstract

Abstract: Every Brazilian citizen can access public information that is in state custody. This right is considered fundamental and is provided for in the Federal Constitution of 1988. This article aims to analyze the different profiles of citizens who request information through the Electronic System of Citizen Information Service (e-SIC), having as reference 2018. To achieve the proposed objective, we used deductive and analytical methods, and after extracting the necessary data, we set up a database with indicators in order to obtain the results. The research had as sample the requests made in Brazilian Capitals, being grouped by Regions (North, Northeast, Southeast, South and Midwest). Such indicators are: Gender, Age, Schooling and Profession. Through the analysis of the results it was possible to verify that the average age of citizens accessing e-SIC was above 40 years. Looking at the level of education, we saw that the citizens with higher education level are majority. In the research it is also evident that women are still a minority in political participation, in addition to other identified social aspects, which point a warning to the information society and its public spheres.
