Marx e o antropoceno: discussão teórico conceitual de um problema contemporâneo

Este artigo analisa as possibilidades de compreensão do antropoceno tendo em vista as proposições teóricas de Marx e Engels e do marxismo em geral. A noção de antropoceno surgiu no meio acadêmico no início do século XXI e até hoje é debatido entre várias áreas de conhecimento, linhas teóricas, autores, sendo que cada um reivindica uma definição ou mesmo a mudança de nome, ainda hoje não houve consenso na sua definição. O marxismo também contribuiu com as discussões a respeito desse termo, procurando entender a capacidade crítica dessa nova era, caso aceita pela comunidade científica. Em nossa análise de Marx, Engels e de alguns autores marxistas, observa-se que as interpretações mais populares sobre o antropoceno se afastam ou até negam a teoria e práxis revolucionária. Sob a ótica marxista, o antropoceno apresenta-se apenas como portador de reformas do capitalismo, sem avançar na discussão da sua superação.
