Abstract

The media, as a power device, produces images of bodies that stabilize over time generating patterns. These patterns replicate information as universal directions. This strategy of model building carries the notion of generic bodies: the illusion that the bodies may be identical. The dance is not aside of this context. Therefore, this article proposes a critical reflection on these questions, since it presents proposals that deviate from the understanding that the image is only on the media environment. This hypothesis presents a different point of view when proposes that the body, in its nature, operates by images, thinks through images and communicates through images. On this bias comes a reflection about aesthetics productions of dance and a discussion of its role in educationand training in the contemporary scene, by proposing that contemporary dance is, in its nature, transgressive and does not meet the obligation of bodies submission, because is not in charge of the production of equals. Contemporary dance displays images of bodies that expose their purposes without ties or stylistic models as a sign of their existence and temporality.
