Abstract

Technological advancement has made the valuation of intangible assets necessary for companies, with Intellectual Property (IP) assets standing out. Although the culture of intellectual property in Brazil is incipient, government initiatives have been carried out, such as the one that motivated the creation of the board game Jornada da PI. Considering the various types of existing games, this article aimed to characterize this game in terms of typology. The methodology adopted included the description and analysis of the game in terms of classification and its components. The game met the basic aspects of the Quest game design methodology (space, actors, items, and challenges) and its structure was guided by a narrative, evidencing the quality of the product. It presented itself as an educational game and a serious game, playing an important role in the promotion of new practices and didactic approaches, both in the academic and business environments.
