Abstract

The administration of intramammary antibiotics is the most used method in the treatment of mastitis. However, this treatment is developing microbial resistance. With the use of ozone treatments, a favorable reaction in the disease is achieved. In order to assess the current status and the evolution of technologies associated with ozone therapy in mastitis, a technological prospection was carried out, through the search for internationally deposited patents, for the search the European patent bank (EPO- Espacenet®), making use of keywords and IPC codes, and combinations between them. As a result, 56 patents related to the scope of this research were found, which showed that, for the most part, innovation has been carried out in accessories for the application of intramammary drugs, by the countries of the USA and Japan. a drop in terms of patent filing and, therefore, in technology innovation.
