Scientific and Technological Prospection of the use of Pracaxi Oil

Abstract

Study was carried out on the production of scientific papers and patents with the use Pracaxi oil. To do so, have been prospected information described in scientific articles via the WIPO platforms, LENS and CAPES. Using the keywords: oleo de pracaxi and pracaxi oil, it was found that in international databases of scientific articles, there are a small number of academic papers published involving the oil pracaxi, being in your most from Brazilian research entities, but there are a significant number of patent documents, mainly with regard to the description of any action for the production of cosmetics, but in your vast majority, international,  demonstrating that there is little interest in local search involving obtaining base oil technology pracaxi, which presents important active ingredients for the pharmaceutical and cosmetics industry have used for centuries for  traditional knowledge.

Economist, Master's Student in Intellectual Property and Technology Transfer, Specialist in Science and Technology Management and in Environmental Management. He works as a consultant in the areas of Strategic Planning, Project Management and Innovation Management. Support Technician for Entrepreneurship and Innovation - Secretary of Science, Technology and Education of the State of Pará. He has experience in the area of ​​Scientific Dissemination, with an emphasis on innovation and Institutional Development Programs and University Extensionist Projects. Coordination of the implementation of the program for the implementation and development of innovation environments, such as technology-based business incubators and innovation centers of excellence.

Carlos Alberto Machado Rocha, Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Pará, Belém, PA, Brazil

Degree in Biological Sciences from the Federal University of Pará - 1987, with a specialization in Ecology and Fish Hygiene from the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences of Pará (current Federal Rural University of the Amazon) - 1996, Master's in Genetics and Molecular Biology from the Federal University of Pará - 2000, and PhD in Neurosciences and Cell Biology from the Federal University of Pará - 2009. Post-doctorate at the Federal University of Ceará - 2011/2012, in the sector of Biotechnological Products and Processes Linked to Human or Animal Health, working in the prospection of products natural species with anticancer activity isolated from marine invertebrates and associated microorganisms. He is currently a professor [D 4 04] of the permanent staff of the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Pará and of the Professional Master's Degree in Intellectual Property and Technology Transfer for Innovation (PROFNIT/CAPES), being the latter's Focal Point Coordinator of the IFPA - Campus Belém. He has experience in the areas of Ecology and Genetics, with an emphasis on Environmental Mutagenesis and Cancer Genetics. He is the leader of the Environmental Mutagenesis Research Group and Prospecting of Bioactive Natural Products, certified by the CNPq.
