Prospective Analysis of the Caju: technological mapping through patent requests

Abstract

Cashew tree (Anacardium occidentale L.) is a tropical plant native to the Brazilian Northeast that has food potential, standing out for the great variety of products that are derived from its cultivation. Cashew agribusiness has great social and economic relevance for the Northeast region of Brazil. The present study aims to carry out a technological survey of Caju by analyzing patent applications in the main databases of free access: World Intellectual Property Organization (Patentscope – WIPO), European Patent Office (Espacenet) and in the database of the National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI). And after analyzing Caju technological competencies, through the technological mapping of patents, it was possible to observe that the technological potentialities of the fruit is broad, not only restricted to agribusiness, especially in the medical or veterinary science area and hygiene.

He holds a degree in Computer Science from the State University of Piauí (2013) and a Specialization in Information Technology Management from the Cândido Mendes University. He is currently a technician in information technology at the Federal University of Piauí. Has experience in the area of ​​Computer Network Infrastructure with emphasis on Information Security.

He is currently Full Professor - EBTT at the Federal University of Piauí - Technical College of Floriano UFPI/CTF.
