TERRA QUE RESISTE

Abstract

                  Marco Aurélio Cremasco, the writer of Guayrá (2017), is from Paraná, born in Guaraci-PR. Most of his literary works are poetry books. As a fiction writer, in addition to Guayrá, the work Santo Reis da Luz Divina (2007) stands out, since the plot deals with the Paraguayan War, a remarkable and well-remembered historical period in Latin America. The history of Guayrá and the Jesuit missions in the territory that is today a large part of Paraná, on the other hand, fell into popular oblivion. In this sense, the novel Guayrá becomes a “place of memory”, as it resurfaced, in an unusual way, this historical moment in the memory of Paraná. However, when we start reading what appears to be a historical novel about an already forgotten period in the history of Paraná, we realize that the author's intentions go far beyond the simple gesture of remembering.
