INTERTEXTUALIDADE E ALEGORIA NA CANÇÃO DA BANDA THE ROLLING STONES

Abstract

This paper was developed up on the study of the existing intersectionality linking The Rolling Stones’ song Sympathy for the devil to the romance The Master and Magarita, by a Russian writer named Mikhail Bulgakov. Besides, the allegory found in the English band’s song became part of this study. On the research development, it was clear that the intertextuality, quoted by Hutcheon (2013) as dialogic relation between two texts, referring to adaptions, between these two literary texts has no end. Tthus, the intertextuality also extent itself to O Evangelho Segundo Jesus Cristo, by Jose Saramago, the drama Fausto, by Goethe and goes on in relation with religious texts as the Bible etc. It is noticed that the references and citations between literary productions are endless. So, there are no boundaries for literary genders regardless the stiles, era, linguistic resources etc, Regarding to allegory, Cândido (2003) claims to be the way that assumes the of the translation of the figurative language through invariable elucidations purposely defined by the author and inherent to an ideological system that transforms the text into a second text produced by reading.
