O FENÔMENO DA MORTE NA OBRA "HOMENS IMPRUDENTEMENTE POÉTICOS"

Abstract

This work has as object of research the novel “Imprudently poetic men”, by the Portuguese writer Valter Hugo Mãe (VHM), published in 2016 and whose theme is the phenomenon of death. In this sense, the general objective of this study is to analyze the concept of finitude in the referenced work. As specific objectives we propose: a) to understand the vision of death elaborated by Mãe in his work; b) identify the different conceptions that the main characters, Itaro and Saburo, have about the end of life; c) to compare the notions of death present in the book with the Catholic and psychoanalytic Christian thought. This is a bibliographic research, with a qualitative approach, whose theoretical framework is supported by: Àries (2012), Henriques (2014), Campos (2013) and Freud (2021).
