The American series of success (The Mentalist, Lie to me, Dr. House, etc…) are seen here like symptoms, ie, as signs that say something about the society that approve them. In this way, it is an essay from séméiologie, the science of symptoms for Medicine. It is shown that they satisfy a thirst for knowledge. In this context, intimacy plays the role of ultimate knowledge, as evidenced by various procedures as the voice over. Through this desire to penetrate the deep intimacy of beings, there a relentless quest for transparency lost. In this context, the secret is considered a lie. The American series show a definite loss of comfort transparency in our democratic societies.Downloads
