We analyze the short fi lm M.A.M.O.N., directed by Alejandro Damiani and launched in 2016, which deals with the construction of the wall between Mexico and the United States. The fi lm criticized the main campaign platform of Donald Trump, then Republican Party candidate for the Presidency of the United States. Organized by comic references, M.A.M.O.N. highlights the territorial disputes between the two countries, using the image of the wall as a space of struggle. At fi rst, we discuss the issues related to the border space, especially systematized by the presence of the wall as a device of contemporary geopolitical tension. Then, we show how the film comic marks, framed by debauchery and caricature as a discursive strategy – mobilizes an imagery project that establishes the idea of occupation and resistance.
