Abstract

The essay writing aims to reflect on the creative process of producing and filming the film “BAREBACK em si bemol (B♭)” (2024), as well as the public reception of the work. Made by two people living with hiv/aids, in the fourth decade of the epidemic in Brazil, the film exposes autobiographical narratives, the discussion about the cure, a perception about the uncritical medicalization that affects people living with hiv/aids, among other topics . Produced as an expanded dialogue between the people who made the film, our intention is to keep the debate about the epidemic alive, at the same time as we invite readers to an exercise of implication and responsibility regarding the images that they decide/we decide to keep in the imagination and orally regarding hiv and aids.
