Abstract

Both the writer Federico García Lorca and the singer Cazuza have left a lasting impact on their respective generations, even with the poetic works of the former being part of the readings of the latter. Based on these premises, this article seeks to establish connections between Garcia Lorca's Sonetos del amor oscuro (1984) and some songs by the Brazilian rock'n roll poet. Drawing on a queer reading of the analyzed sonnets and songs, as well as a sensitive approach to both artists' biographies, this comparative study delves into their works while using their lives as a reference point. Through this detailed comparison of their works and lives, it becomes evident how their productions lay the groundwork for new conjectures about gay literature in its various forms.
