Abstract

This descriptive research seeks to understand the intermingling of various identities—such as Cuban origin,
migration, generational and gender issues—in articulation with sexuality in the series One day at a time (2017), whose plot revolve around the conflicts within a family of Cuban immigrants in the United States. Based on the concepts developed by Cultural Studies, the work delves into the deconstruction of gender stereotypes (BUTLER, 2003), observing the sociocultural configurations that permeate the construction of these identities.
