This article discusses the relationship between cultural journalism and dance, consideringthe production of journalism in Brazil and its historical implications. A brief overview ofthe history of cultural journalism in Brazil and in the world establishes the context ofapproaches concerning the modes of production of journalistic discourse about dance. From a critical view point in relation to the crisis that this journalism has been suffering, the past thirty years, we aim to understand their role in the construction of memoryand historiography of dance. In its function of registering and disseminate data, thejournalism controls what will be included or excluded from the agendas, determiningwhat will remain in history as a mark of his time. According to the formulations of DanielPiza (2004), Giorgio Agamben (2004) and Boaventura de Souza Santos (2006), this study problematizes inclusions, exclusions, absences and emergencies produced in thejournalistic work. In this sense, it points a critical look to the mirroring between danceand speech, in times when exclusionary and mass parameters demarcate the journalism.Downloads
