Digital Preservation

Cadernos de Prospecção ensures the long-term persistence and accessibility of its content through robust digital preservation policies. The journal’s collection is integrated into the Cariniana Network (IBICT), which utilizes the LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) technology. This distributed archiving system enables the creation of permanent archives among participating institutions, guaranteeing the integrity, preservation, and restoration of digital files in the event of any technical failure.

Peer Review Process

Cadernos de Prospecção establishes rigorous evaluation criteria in its editorial policy, which include alignment with the journal’s focus and scope, compliance with technical standards (ABNT), and adherence to grammatical and formal requirements. Manuscripts are further evaluated based on thematic relevance, theoretical-methodological consistency, textual coherence, and originality.

Following an initial screening (desk review), manuscripts are forwarded to two anonymous reviewers for a qualitative merit analysis through a Double-Blind Peer Review system. Once this stage is completed, the editorial decision is shared with the authors for their awareness and, if necessary, for the implementation of suggested revisions.

The estimated timeframe from submission to a final decision is approximately 6 months, depending directly on the reviewers' responsiveness and the authors' promptness in addressing any editorial requests.

To ensure the journal's diversity and plurality, we maintain a policy of not publishing more than one article by the same author in a single issue. Therefore, following final approval, publication scheduling will follow the editorial calendar and the submission queue, strictly respecting this criteria of authorship diversity.
