Avaliação do Uso da Biomassa Úmida na Produção de Biodiesel a partir de Microalgas

Resumo

Com o aumento da população mundial, a demanda por combustíveis aumentou nos últimos anos. Visando a substituir a utilização de combustíveis fósseis e minimizar os impactos que causam, alternativas como a utilização de microalgas para produzir biocombustíveis estão sendo desenvolvidas para uma futura implantação em larga escala. Esse estudo teve como finalidade realizar um mapeamento tecnológico tendo em vista resultados relacionados à produção de biodiesel a partir de microalgas. Uma busca avançada foi realizada utilizando as palavras-chave “biodiesel”, “microalgae”, “in situ” e “wet”, para a obtenção de referências voltadas à utilização da biomassa molhada no processo de transesterificação. A pesquisa resultou em 16 artigos publicados de 2011 a 2015. Foi verificado que somente nove patentes foram depositadas com a utilização da biomassa úmida no processo. Microalgas dos gêneros Nannochloropsis e Chlorella são as mais utilizadas e a condição de processo in situ utilizando um catalisador adequado apresenta um elevado potencial para uma possível produção em larga escala.
