Curriculum. Pandemic. Agency and curricular decisionAbstract
This article, focusing on teaching curricular practices in times of a pandemic, reports on a study that had as its starting question: how do teachers perceive the return to face-to-face classes in the curricular scenario? From an empirical point of view, it uses the narratives of basic education teachers who are working during social isolation, considering their teaching experiences as curriculating actors and actresses with the use of agency power. These narratives are in dialogue with the work “A cruel pedagogy of the virus” (Santos, 2020), as well as with concepts that have marked the field of curricular studies and support the configuration of a horizon in the return to face-to-face classes, in what matters to recontextualizations of teaching practices as curricular decision-makers. In this sense, some reflections were interconnected to the cited work, opening paths to other perceptions of the challenges that the Covid 19 pandemic caused in Brazilian education and how a horizon of challenges remains open for teaching practice in the so-called “new normal”.
