Abstract

Traditional methods used in determining the intrinsic vulnerability of the aquifer consider the depth of the top of the saturated zone of the main factors of groundwater protection. The relationship between the vulnerability and the depth of water is reversed, the greater the value of the variable, low vulnerability. Next the drainage network, are the places where the pressure differential promotes the rise of groundwater and its exudation into rivers, this condition determines a strong protective effect that causes the contaminants are carried into rivers. As the water depth at these sites is low, all the methods were evaluated as areas of low vulnerability. This article proposes the development of a survey to establish changes in the equation of MAIA method to aggregate the variable infiltration rate and include the variable exudation Aquifer. This variable can be obtained from the integration of piezometric levels with gradients of flow, measured from upstream to downstream, whose values ​​are directly proportional to the pressure variations along the rivers.
