PERCEPÇÃO VISUAL ALTERADA EM PACIENTES COM HIV/AIDS

Abstract

São relatados 16 casos de pacientes com problemas oculares relacionados com HIV/AIDS, os quais foram observa-se a partir dos achados do histórico de enfermagem, do exame ocular e da avaliação do oftalmologista. Os resultados demonstram que 15 pacientes se encontram no estágio IV e apenas um no grupo III. As alterações identificadas no exame ocular referem-se à acuidade visual (14/16); nos movimentos oculares (uma diplopia e um nistagmo); no fundo do olho (12), no campo visual (8). As infecções oportunistas que predominaram e que tiveram relação com o achado ocular foram a toxoplasmose, o citomegalovírus e a meningite por criptococcus. Concluiu-se que os pacientes que apresentaram achados oculares relacionados com a AIDS têm severo comprometimento das acuidades visuais para perto e para longe e freqüentemente o fundo de olho e campo visual estão anormais.
