Abstract

The aim of this work was to explore the value attitudes which students and lecturers from medical undergraduate course at Federal University of Campina Grande have towards the criteria for medical research. A question was applied, in different days, to two distinct groups. The first one was composed by students, in the beginning of their scientific research learning, and the other one by lecturers which just concluded their master degree in medicine. The respect to ethical principles and the social appeal received the major values as criteria for make the decision to perform medical scientific research, among those previously listed by the author. The publishing probability received the worst value of all the others. There were not differences between the groups. So, it is shown the respect to individuals and community, but the lack of publishing probability can compromise the diminishing of great scientific skillfulness regional disparities in this country, due to fomentation loss for stricto sensu courses.
