Dental follicle - Third molar- Dentigerous cystAbstract
The aim of this experimental study was to evaluate the histologic and radiographic aspects of the dental follicle in the same patient, focusing to obtain resources to justify a greater incidence of odontogenic lesions within mandible more than in the maxilla. Collected 60 pericoronal follicles, 30 superior and 30 inferior, and analised its radiographic and histologic characteristics for further comparison. It was not found any stastically significant histological difference between superior and inferior pericoronal follicles. Radiographically, it was shown that the inferior follicle had a greater mean width than the superior follicle, but it was not found any difference between them when the height was analyzed. There is no stastically significant histological difference between superior and inferior pericoronal follicles (p=0,058). In addition, both follicles revealed similar heights and different widths.Downloads
