Abstract

This work presents for the first time a new hydrological parameter called Flow Ratio (Rf) calculated from the Greater Extreme Value Maximum Period Annual (MaVEMaxAP) the Best Value Maximum Period Annual (MeVEMaxAP) the Middle Extreme Maximum Annual Period (MEMaxAP) the Best Value Period Annual Minimum (MeVEMinAP) the Greater extreme Value Period Annual Minimum (MaVEMinAP) and Extreme Minimum Period Average Annual (MEMinAP). During the study developed in this work some gauged stations located in Brazilian rivers have been used to make a point of using river classification for this fluviometric historical series of flow rates or quotas. The Flow Ratio also allows the evolution of the flow in the river and shows the evolution of water permanence making a history of water resources in a given season. In this way the method classifies the river flow in the sampled station in surplus surplus Normal Normal Underfunded and Underfunded.
