Adaptação Improvisada em Equipa: Um Modelo de Adaptação em Tempo Real

Resumo

Quando as equipas precisam de se adaptar num contexto de escassez extrema de tempo, elas podem paralisar, podem manter o plano anterior, ou podem improvisar um novo plano. Este último fenómeno consiste na adaptação improvisada em equipa. Sendo um conceito recente, pouco se sabe sobre como as equipas se podem adaptar eficazmente em situações de carência temporal, e como podem produzir conhecimento a partir destes processos. Neste artigo conceptual, desenvolvemos um modelo teórico, baseado num fluxo temporal, o qual contribui para um melhor entendimento da adaptação improvisada. Propomos um conjunto de fatores de influência temporais, moderadores da resposta a estímulos contingenciais, e um conjunto de processos de equipa, fundamentais para a eficácia da adaptação improvisada. Propomos, ainda, que a reflexividade em equipa medeia a relação da adaptação improvisada com a aprendizagem. Ao explorar o fluxo temporal da adaptação improvisada em equipa, estendemos as literaturas de improvisação e de adaptação, aumentando a granularidade dos construtos, alargando a sua rede nomológica.

António Cunha Meneses Abrantes, ISCTE-IUL

António Cunha Meneses Abrantes é investigador da Unidade de Investigação Empresarial (Business Research Unit) do ISCTE-IUL. Os seus interesses de investigação situam-se ao nível das equipas e incluem dinâmicas de equipa, improvisação, adaptação, cognição e aprendizagem. Tem uma carreira de 20 anos como gestor em empresas nacionais e multinacionais, e foi atleta Olímpico representando Portugal em três olimpíadas.

Ana Margarida Passos, ISCTE, Instituto Universitário de Lisboa

Ana Margarida Passos é professora associada do departamento de RH&CO no ISCTE-IUL. Os seus interesses de investigação incluem liderança de equipas, cognição de equipa, processos afetivos-motivacionais e eficácia e adaptabilidade da equipa com um foco particular em aspetos temporais.

Miguel Pina e Cunha, Nova School of Business and Economics, Universidade Nova de Lisboa

Miguel Pina e Cunha é professor de teoria organizacional e comportamento organizacional na NovaSBE, Portugal. A sua investigação foca-se, principalmente, no surpreendente (paradoxo, improvisação, serendipidade, zemblanidade, círculos viciosos) e no extremo (organização positiva, genocídio). Miguel é coautor (com Arménio Rego e Stewart Clegg) do livro “As virtudes da liderança: desafio contemporâneo para gestores globais” (Oxford University Press, 2012).

Patrícia Costa é investigadora no CUBE, a unidade de investigação organizacional da Católica Lisbon. A sua investigação centra-se na eficácia das equipas, particularmente nos processos interpessoais da equipa e nos estados afetivo-motivacionais emergentes. A sua investigação foi publicada em revistas de topo. Ela também trabalha como consultora em Psicologia Organizacional, trabalhando com instituições públicas e privadas.
