Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

Author Guidelines

Authors must comply with the following guidelines:

 

  1. Scientific articles must be submitted exclusively through the address https://periodicos.ufba.br/index.php/revdirsex/index.
  2. The contribution must be original and unpublished, and it is not even in the process of being evaluated for publication in another journal/periodical.
  3. Papers must be typed in a word processor Word for Windows, version 2000 or higher.
  4. Up to 3 (three) authors are allowed per article.
  5. All articles must present a title (in Portuguese and foreign language), abstract (in Portuguese and foreign language), keywords (in Portuguese and foreign language), introduction, development, conclusion and list of references.
  6. Papers written in Portuguese, English or Spanish will be accepted. Works in other languages ​​may be accepted upon editorial consultation.
  7. The manuscript to be submitted cannot contain any identification of authorship.
  8. The article must contain 15 to 25 pages, including footnotes and references;
  9. The text must be written in Arial font, size 12; justified alignment; line spacing of 1.5 cm; paragraph spacing before and after zero; paragraphs with 1.25 indentation on the first line.
  10. Direct quotations of more than three lines must be highlighted in their own paragraph with a 4 cm indent from the left margin and without quotation marks, size 11 and single spacing.
  11. Pages must have 3cm left and top margins, 2cm right and bottom margins.
  12. Title in size 12, bold and centered.
  13. Abstract of the article of a maximum of 250 words, single-spaced and justified, size 12.
  14. List of 3 to 5 keywords, in alphabetical order and separated by semicolons.
  15. Foreign language terms should be highlighted in italics.
  16. In the text, citations must be indicated only by the author-date system (example: CUNHA, 2018, p. 30), which only admits explanatory footnotes.
  17. References should be arranged in alphabetical order; left alignment; single spacing; a space (enter) between each reference.
  18. Only works actually cited in the text should appear in the references.
  19. The articles submitted are the sole responsibility of their authors, and do not necessarily reflect the understanding and opinion of the Law and Sexuality Research Group and/or the Faculty of Law of the Federal University of Bahia (FDUFBA).
  20. Authorization to use illustrations, images, tables, etc., obtained from other publications, as well as any other licenses or approvals before copyright holders, is the sole responsibility of the authors.
  21. For other guidelines and formats not listed in these guidelines, the texts must follow the norms of the Brazilian Association of Technical Norms (ABNT).
  22. Receipt of the article does not imply the obligation of its publication. Once the evaluation has been carried out, the author(s) will receive a report about whether or not they are approved for publication.
  23. The evaluation will be carried out by the members of the Editorial Board and by permanent or internal and external ad hoc reviewers, according to the double blind review system.
  24. It is up to the authors, as an integral part of the submission process, to verify the adequacy to all items required by the journal, not being evaluated those submissions that do not comply, including the formatting aspects required here.
  25. The Revista Direito e Sexualidade, from the Federal University of Bahia, reserves the copyright of the published work, together with the authors, and when submitting the article to the magazine, the author agrees to the free transfer of the article.
  26. The author(s) are entirely responsible for the ideas and concepts contained in the article submitted to the journal, agreeing in advance with any graphic corrections to be made by the editors.
  27. Any omissions will be resolved by the Editorial Board of the Law and Sexuality Journal of the Federal University of Bahia.
